Overview

Browning's catalog spans the whole hunt: rifles, shotguns, trail cameras and clothing. Here's what actually earns its place in a Canadian kit, with realistic street prices.

Rifles: X-Bolt 2

The current generation X-Bolt 2 is Browning's flagship bolt rifle, and Canadian street prices run roughly C$1,500–2,400 depending on trim:

Model (examples)Canadian street price (approx.)Notes
X-Bolt 2 Micro (6.5 CM)~C$1,460–1,500Shorter stock/LOP: youth and smaller-framed hunters
X-Bolt 2 Speed~C$1,900The standard hunter; threaded barrel, DLX trigger
X-Bolt 2 Speed LR (7mm PRC)~C$2,100Long-range hunting configuration
White Gold Medallion~C$2,350Walnut/blued presentation grade

Bottom line: accurate, smooth rifles with a proper three-lever DLX trigger: just priced above the Tikka T3x tier, which buys fit-and-finish rather than accuracy.

Shotguns: Maxus II and A5

Defender trail cameras

Browning's 'Defender' line is its trail camera family (not clothing: a common mix-up):

Frequently asked questions

Is Browning gear expensive in Canada?

Browning sits in the upper-mid tier: X-Bolt 2 rifles around C$1,500–2,400, Maxus II shotguns C$2,500+, and Defender cameras frequently discounted well below list.

Browning or Tikka for a first rifle?

The Tikka T3x Lite is the value pick (see our review); the X-Bolt 2 buys a nicer stock, trigger and finish at a premium.
